Some Of New England’s Famous Beaches

New England is home to many world class famous beaches. From the southern states of Connecticut, Rhode Island, through Massachusetts to the northern states of New Hampshire and Maine, the Atlantic Ocean has tons of its shoreline mesmerizing locals and visitors to New England. Sorry to leave you out, Vermont, but alas, you have no ocean coastline!

One of the most popular tourist destinations in Maine is Old Orchard Beach. Situated on the Atlantic Ocean in the southern portion of the state and about a two hour drive from Boston, Old Orchard Beach offers up a seven mile long stretch of beach that is dotted with traditional New England beach houses, bed and breakfasts, and condominiums. The town itself is home to myriad restaurants, clam shacks, souvenir shops, and even a famous Ferris Wheel.

The 15 minute New Hampshire drive from Hampton Beach to Rye Beach offers fantastic views of the Atlantic coast lined with beach houses. The surrounding areas are not as developed commercially as are the neighboring Hampton Beach and Salisbury Beach. Going to the coast where the waves are is an extremely pleasant experience. For those of us who would love to go, it’s important to figure out different methods on how to save money with surfing. Those types of activities aren’t usually all that cheap, but as long as you have a plan and you prepare ahead of time, you’ll be fine.

Instead of trying to travel half around the world to go surfing, try looking for popular spots near where you live. The coasts of Hawaii probably sound like heaven to you, but the thing is that Hawaii is extremely expensive and harbors several tourist traps. If you use the internet to your advantage, you can search for beaches closer to you instead of going to touristy spots.

Maybe you want to just get away for a while and leave your home town. If you go to a place that’s inhabited by a lot of surfers, you’ll probably be able to find a few camps set up specifically for people traveling. Before you go on your trip, however, be sure to pack the things you need in advance. Then, you won’t have to spend much money on personal items. Checking out new baseball stadiums is a great way for fans who like to travel to have the best of both worlds in one trip. There are a lot of baseball fields that are meshed into downtown districts and provide fans with the chance to catch a game and then head out for a night on the town. This has become increasingly popular over the last decade.

There are a lot of franchises that have developed their stadiums for this reason. Fans seem to be pretty happy with this set up, and the next time you are going to head out to a ball game, take into account that you may want to head out on the town after the game.

Look at Coors Field in Denver for example. It is a modern and popular stadium that is also in a great part of the country. When architects and developers designed the new stadium, downtown Denver was kind of run down. Northern California houses some of the best golf courses in the world. This is more the case than anything in the Monterey Peninsula, which happens to boast four of the top seven golf courses in the upper part of the state. While some of the courses might be pretty pricey, like Pebble Beach and Spyglass, others are very reasonably priced for the average golfer. All-in-all, the courses placed in the next few paragraphs are places that you need to get out to at some stage in your life.

Great Lake Tahoe Vacations

Lake Tahoe has been one the most popular vacation destinations for decades now. It is very popular due to being both a winter and summer vacation retreat. There are so many great activities and fun things to do here that it can feel like two vacations in one. The area is scattered with many landmarks and is also divided into two regions known as North and South Lake Tahoe. Stretching for miles, you will find that the lake offers various water activities while the surrounding region offers skiing and other recreational activities to enjoy.

In Lake Tahoe you can expect to have warm sunshine in summer (and even in winter) as well as 396 inches of annual snowfall. There are nearly 20 excellent ski and snow-sports resorts along with many wonderful golf courses, casinos, resorts, vacation rentals and much more. Winter here is a popular time of year to visit, but remember that winter storms are frequent through the winter months, which can stretch into spring at times. If you plan to drive to Tahoe you need to be sure that your vehicle is equipped with the proper snow chains.
