Stratosphere Hotel – Is It Really The Most Impressive Choice To Stay In Sin City

Being a seasoned traveler, one of the first things I deliberate prior to starting my journey is the hotel where I will stay. I have to rightly draw the conclusion that the many stays in places all over the world have turned me to a kind of hotel connoisseur. One of my favorite places is Las vegas, not only because of renowned casinos, but for the cuisine, excellent cordiality and dazzling nightlife as well.

For me, a trip to Las vegas is not whole without staying at Stratosphere Hotel Las Vegas. The hotel is found at the Northern part of the famous strip. Stratosphere hotel has six restaurants, a marvelous casino and all-night entertainment.

There exist a number of reasons why it is difficult for me to stay anywhere else except the Stratosphere. Firstly, the comfort and dcor of the rooms is above usual, even for Las Vegas. This compensates the fact that the hotel is a bit remote from the famous strip not to mention most other attractions in Las Vegas. The vastness has its advantages too; I found out that after spending an entire day and probably a part of the night hustling and bustling in Las vegas, the Stratosphere was the greatest destination to rest for the reason that its genteel atmosphere.  Read more...

Travelling By Train

Over the last ten years there has been a return to train travel, particularly in the United States. This might have something to do with nostalgia and romance, but most analysts put it down to a result of the in-flight bombing of Twin Towers on 9/11/2001.

The government’s and the airlines’ response to those acts of terrorism have resulted in massive hikes in the degree of security at airports and quite rightly so, but travellers are also put off by the lengthy queues and invasive searches at airports. This problem is even worse at busy airports and during holiday periods such as while schools are off.

Car travel is also an alternative, but then you have to do your own driving and that brings its own issues, especially if you are with children and especially if you are a single parent. Manchester’s musical legacy

A part of the second biggest larger urban zone in the UK, Manchester is a city in the North West of England. The city is known, among other things, for its musical heritage, and has been the birthplace of many famous groups. Oasis and Joy Division are household names across the country, but Manchester’s contribution to music is much more than just the bands it has produces.

It started in the 60s when bands such as the Bee Gees, the Hollies and Wayne Fontana put Manchester on the map. Top of the Pops, the BBC weekly musical low down, was also recorded in the city at this time. The early 1970s saw names such as Barclay James Harvest and 10cc populate the charts too. However, it was in the latter part of the 1970s that Manchester really became integrated into the history of the UKs music scene.

The 4th of June 1976 saw the Lesser Free Trade Hall in Castlefield host a show that would turn out to be extremely influential. There was only a crowd of less than 42 people there to see the Sex Pistols, but included in them was Tony Wilson (of Factory Records), Bernard Summer (of Joy Division and New Order) Morrissey (of The Smiths), and Paul Morely who would become a big musical journalist.  Read more...
