Sumidero Canyon

When thinking about canyons, you’ll be surprised by Sumidero Canyon which is different from the Grand Arizona. What makes Sumidero Canyon different is, while the latter is in a desert, Sumidero Canyon is an explosion of greenery, water, and wildlife.

Canyon de Sumidero is in Chiapas State, Southeast Mexico. It begins near Chiapa de Corzo, stretches for 35km. Sumidero Canyon finally ends at the reservoir of the Chicoasn hydroelectric dam.

Canyon de Sumidero can be visited by boat or driving along the miradores at the top of the cliffs surrounding it. We opted to join a boat trip at the Cahuar embarcadero. We were quite fortunate that a number of people turned up shortly after us, so we didn’t need to wait for long for the boat to fill. After putting on our life vests we were ready to go to Sumidero Canyon!

The boatman took us to some of the interesting spots along Sumidero Canyon. The first one was the Cueva de Colores (Colours Cave), a small cave which has some interesting pinkish colours on the ceiling and a small statue of Virgin of Guadalupe. Later, toward the middle of the boat trip to Sumidero Canyon, we arrived at the highest point of Sumidero Canyon, a cliff that reaches nearly 1000m, where the mountains from both sides of the river create an impressive gate full of life surrounded by nature.

Owning a Fifth Wheel is Better than Being a Third Wheel

Being called a third wheel isn’t generally a compliment. It usually means you aren’t wanted. But when you own a fifth wheel, everyone will want to be around you and travel with you. Fifth wheels are one of the roomiest RVs on the market with plenty of space and privacy for all.

The maximum number of slide-outs, five, can add an extra fifteen feet of space when parked. The ceilings on fifth wheels are known to be built higher than other models, for a spacious feel. There are a variety of amenities that come with the top-of-the line models, including custom cabinetry and detailing from bathroom sinks to shower tiles.

Fifth wheels are homes on wheels, measuring 21-40 feet long. Bring the pets, the kids, toys for all and home cooked food. Every type of travel suits a fifth wheel lifestyle from family outings, exploring America, Canada and Mexico, or piling in for the kid’s baseball game. With sleeping quarters for eight, everyone has their own space and can get a good night’s sleep.

Looking for a little space from grandma, or your uncle that snores? Set them up in the bedroom that stretches over the truck bed. Reasonably priced at $20,000, fifth wheels can top a million dollars depending on what types of amenities you like.
