The Yunnan Stone Forest – The First Wonder Of The World

They say that the Yangtze River or Chang Jiang is where Chinese civilization was born. The river stretches almost 4,000 miles making it the longest river in China and the third longest in the world after the Nile in Egypt and the Amazon in South America.

The Stone Forest is in Lunan Yi Nationality Autonomous County, which is about 120 kilometers (75 miles) from Kunming and requires only a three-hour drive. It covers an area of 400 square kilometers (96,000 acres) and includes both large and small stone forests, as well as many other scenic spots.

Perhaps the best way to see the Yangtze River is by cruise ship or by boat. There are various cruises – some last only for the afternoon while others take as long as two weeks to complete. On the longer cruises you will be able to take in some of the cities that line the banks of the river such as Wuhan, Guilin, Yangshuo, Shanghai and also Hong Kong.

Shore excursions are led by knowledgeable tour guides so you can enjoy a number of on-land visits. The best time to visit the river is in spring, summer and autumn. Winters can be very harsh.  Read more...

Carolina Thumps Slumping Tampa Bay

Carolina Panthers’ quarterback Jake Delhomme struggled on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and was fortunate that his running backs bailed him out. Delhomme threw for only 65 yards with two interceptions, but D’Angelo Williams (152 yards) and Jonathan Stewart (110 yards) kept the chains moving as the Panthers won their second straight game defeating the Bucs 28-21. Tampa Bay has now lost ten straight dating back to last season and are 0-6 for the first time since’85. Carolina improved to 2-3 with the victory.

NFL sports bettors were faced with a choice between two teams with dismal ATS records in this game, and those who had the guts to take a 1-3 team as a -3 road favorite were rewarded with the cover. It was Carolina’s first NFL pointspread cover of the season and left them with a 1-4 record against the number. Tampa Bay has covered one of their six games this year.

Delhomme attempted only seven passes in the second half, but the way Williams and Stewart were running there was no reason to put the ball in the air. Williams said that even though Tampa Bay knew what was coming they couldn’t stop the Panthers’ running game:  Read more...

Cincinnati Rips Chicago

Former Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson got revenge on the team that let him go in the best possible way. Benson amassed 189 yards rushing and led his new team, the Cincinnati Bengals, to a 45-10 rout over the visiting Bears on Sunday. Carson Palmer threw for five touchdowns with no interceptions in the blowout victory. Cincinnati improved to 5-2 with the win while Chicago dropped to 3-3 on the NFL season.

The Bengals also made short work of the NFL pointspread, easily covering as +1′ home underdogs. Cincinnati improved to 4-3 against the number while Chicago evened their ATS mark at 3-3.

A happy Benson described his feelings after the win:

“Everybody knew it was going to be an emotional day. Everybody knew. What a wonderful day and a wonderful thing, to go out there and strut your stuff.”

Despite the evidence to the contrary, Benson downplayed the motive of revenge:

“I continue to be as graceful as I can be. I’m not shoving anything in anybody’s face. Like I say, it wasn’t a revenge day for me. I just wanted to take advantage of the opportunities.”  Read more...

The Truth Behind Loud Motorcycle Pipes !!!

I have been reading and hearing allot lately about people who are saying that loud Motorcycle Pipes are a major problem in the world. These groups are trying to get those in Government to pass all sorts of new inspection laws for Motorcycle Pipes.

Seeing as Motorcycles make up such a small percentage of the Traffic on the road I would say this problem is very minimal at best. ( I wonder how many cars with bad mufflers are heard that many think are Motorcycles)

These people complain saying Motorcycle Riders like loud pipes because they are juvenile and want to show off and say Hey look at me and draw attention to themselves.

The reason many Bikers like loud pipes is not to say look at me, its to say look out for Me! Many Car drivers these days are talking on the phone, texting , putting on make up , eating , playing loud music , watching DVDs and just not paying attention to the road in front of them. NFL Preseason Handicapping: Pros and Cons

Betting preseason NFL games never fails to elicit an irreconcilable difference of opinion among sports betting enthusiasts. Some consider it a very poor wagering opportunity, while others maintain that there’s no better moneymaking opportunity in sports than pro football’s preseason. The truth is probably somewhere between the two extremes–NFL preseason betting must be approached with caution and discipline, but offers the potential to make a tidy profit before the regular season kicks off.

The most compelling argument against preseason wagering is simply that the games don’t count. While there are often spots during the regular season where teams may seem more or less motivated, in theory they all want to win. That’s not something that can be taken as a ‘given’ during the preseason, however, as the individual agendas of NFL coaching staffs can very widely. Some might want to win games to establish a winning attitude, others might put a greater focus on working in a new offensive or defensive scheme. Others may prioritize evaluating talent at key positions, while others may simply want to make it through to the regular season without any significant injuries.
