Cafe Culture in Sydney

Whilst many tourists head to the delights of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, those travellers in the know, head for its many and varied cafes.

Australia is actually well known for its exceptional coffee and the locals really do enjoy nothing better than having a late breakfast (brunch) on the weekend with at least a couple of cups of the cities finest coffee, whilst reading the local paper.

For the best breakfast in town take a ferry from Circular Quay to Balmain East. Don’t be put off by the big hill that awaits you. There is a regular bus that will take you to the top. Once there, you’ll find Kazbah at 308 Darling Street.

This is breakfast with a difference. You can still order the usual breakfast items but I urge you to try something a little different in this middle Eastern cafe. The Breakfast tagine is a favourite but if you can get a group of 8 of you together then go for the degustation menu. Not only is it a total bargain at just $20 per head, the food is amazing and just keeps coming. You won’t be able to eat for the whole day. Don’t forget to book well in advance for this treat.
